The Department of Labor's Employment Security Division (ESD)
administers the unemployment insurance (UI) program under the
Alaska Employment Security Act. ESD
issues written notices of determination to claimants and
employers that affect their
benefits, rights, and obligations.
If you are a claimant, you may appeal any written ESD
determination that denies or restricts your unemployment insurance benefits.
If you are an employer, you may appeal any written ESD
determination that concerns the work separation of a former
employee or your UI tax liability.
