Denali Training Fund
The Denali Training Fund prioritizes its resources for training that
leads to real jobs for rural Alaskans. With the significant investment
by the Denali Commission in infrastructure, and other state and federal
construction projects, it is crucial that Alaskans have the skills and
knowledge required to work on the construction and operation phases of
these projects. This is a unique opportunity for rural residents to achieve
an increased standard of living while still maintaining their cultural
values.
The Denali Training Fund was established by the Denali commission to
ensure local residents have the skills necessary to become employed on
the construction, operation and maintenance of Denali Commission and other
public infrastructure projects in rural Alaska.
With the direction of the Denali Commission Training Subcommittee the
Department of Labor and Workforce Development will continue to build better
and stronger delivery of services as we gain valuable experience in the
administration of the training program.
The Denali Training Fund can provide grants to any non-profit or for-profit
organization, business, or government agency with the capacity to provide
or facilitate the training. Funding is for organizations to conduct training;
direct funding to individuals is not available.
The Denali Training Fund will pay for the following:
- Tuition
- Instructor Wages
- Books
- Tools
- Required Clothing
- Incidental Stipends
- Lodging Transportation
- Administration
Applications are accepted quarterly on March, June, September, and December
15.
