The Employment Security Division promotes
employment, economic stability, and growth by operating a no-fee
labor exchange that meets the needs of employers, job seekers, and
veterans. By statute, our mission is to promote employment and economic
stability by responding to the needs of employers and job seekers.
To ensure that job ready workers are available to
meet employer needs, the Employment Security Division administers
three complementary programs: Employment Services, Unemployment
Insurance, and Job Training through a network of Alaska Job Centers
throughout the state. Employment Services includes job placement,
job matching and referral, vocational counseling, and job search
assistance. Unemployment Insurance provides for the payment of temporary
benefits to eligible, unemployed workers while they are seeking
employment. Job Training services are designed to meet the unique
needs of individuals who wish to enter or re-enter the job market,
with particular assistance for unemployed workers, low-income adults,
youth and others who need help finding stable employment. |
