Jobs Posted on Alaska's and America's Job Banks Reach Thousands

Employers can now post job orders online and reach thousands of job seekers daily with a new online job order option on the expanded Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DOL) Employer Connection Web site.

"The new online job order is another useful option in addition to phoning, faxing, or emailing job openings. It is fast, easy to use, convenient and available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day," said DOL Commissioner Ed Flanagan. "Employers can advertise their job openings free of charge on both Alaska's and America's Job Banks, which are both very popular and widely used job resources."

To post a job order, employers will need their Alaska Employment Security Tax Account Number or their Federal Employer Identification Number to set up an initial profile. A list of previous job orders is retained, so once set up, employers can log in as return users and update repeat openings.

DOL's Employment Services has also recently started posting Workplace Alaska State job openings on Alaska's Job Bank to help in the state's recruitment efforts for qualified employees. Since Alaska's Job Bank is updated at least six times a day and America's Job Bank is updated once a day to include Alaska Job Bank entries, employers can potentially reach thousands of job seekers through online posting.

Employers can post their jobs at the Employer's Business Connection Website or through the State's Webmart.
