Nov. 19, 2019
No. 19-28

JUNEAU, Alaska-The Alaska Veterans and Military Spouses Job Fair will be held Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University Center in Anchorage at 3801 Old Seward Highway.

The annual hiring event will have more than 120 employers and education, training and apprenticeship providers serving more than 1,000 veterans, transitioning soldiers and their families.

"More than 69,000 veterans and their family members call Alaska home-the greatest per capita population of veterans in the nation," said Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Dr. Tamika L. Ledbetter. "Today's veterans offer Alaska businesses some of the most highly-desired skill sets including adaptability, dependability, follow-through, leadership and a strong sense of responsibility."

This job fair is one of the largest hiring fairs in Alaska, and every year many Alaska employers use this event to discover valuable military talent.

Job fair partners are University Center Mall/Furniture Enterprise, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs/Office of Veterans Affairs, First National Bank Alaska, DanTech Services, Starbucks, Moose's Tooth Pizzeria, Kaladi Brothers Coffee, NAPA Auto Parts, Matson, Transition Management, TH1 LLC and TBA Theatre.

The job fair is free and open to the public. Job seekers should dress for potential interviews and bring copies of resumes and business cards.
