
What is the purpose of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009?
The purpose of ARRA includes creating and saving jobs, modernizing the nation's infrastructure and
building a foundation for long-term economic growth.
How does it work?
Our state has chosen to accept ARRA funds that will, among other goals, create new jobs. In the
Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development the funds will be used to expand or extend
services delivered from existing programs.
