Mature Alaskans Seeking Skills Training
MASST, Alaska’s Senior Community Service Employment Program for low-income persons age 55 or older, will enhance efforts to foster self-sufficiency and transitions to unsubsidized employment.

An additional $563,685 is now available to help train unemployed low-income Alaskans who are 55 years or older. The training, available across the state, is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. These funds will be added to the more than $2.3 million already set aside for training funds for older Alaskans. Click here for more information.

Trade Adjustment Assistance
Funds will be used to provide additional aid to those workers who have lost their jobs or whose hours, work or wages have been reduced as a result of increased imports.

Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Adult Programs

Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Dislocated Worker Program
Current training activities and support services in the Adult and Dislocated Worker programs will receive ARRA funds to enhance existing services for eligible participants. The eligibility criteria for these programs will not change as a result of this increase in funding.
