How to file an appeal

If you do not have an attorney to represent you, and you want to file an appeal of a final decision and order of the Alaska Workers’ Compensation Board (Board), the Alaska Workers’ Compensation Appeals Commission (Commission) has a packet of instructions and forms to assist you.

To obtain the instruction packet online, please click here to retrieve and print it.

Hard copies of the instruction packets are available at the Commission office in Anchorage, and at the Board offices in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau.

Please call the Commission at 907-269-6738 or e-mail the Commission clerk at awcac.clerk@alaska.gov to ask that a packet be mailed to you. Give your name and complete mailing address. Be sure to say that you want to file an appeal of a final decision and order of the Board to the Commission and that you want the “How to file an appeal” packet.
