Employment Security Division Director Ronald E. Hull and Assistant Director Ted Burke (pictured at left with Bonnie Richards) from the Alaska Department of Labor were on hand to do the honors in a tribute ceremony at the Job Center.

"Bonnie Richards and Carolyn Evans have always made the extra effort to surpass the Employment Security program standards by providing the highest degree of customer service," Hull (pictured below right with Carolyn Evans) said. In addition to receiving framed certificates, the team was honored with silver medallions embossed with the Division's motto, "Customer Value Every Time!" The awards are part of a division-wide employee recognition program, entitled Thanks Recognition Appreciation and Credit, or TRAC, implemented by Labor's Employment Security Division in January 2002. The program recognizes division employees and work teams across the state, which contribute to improving workplace practices and providing magnanimous customer service.

The Sitka Job Center is one of 23 employment centers the Division administers in Alaska. The Employment Security Division is the largest division in Labor charged with promoting employment and economic stability through employment services, job training, and unemployment insurance programs. The programs collectively impact over 25 percent of Alaska's labor force each year through the job center network, getting thousands of workers their first, next or best job through training and workforce preparedness, which in turn supplies a significant amount of local businesses with a job-ready labor force.

As sole employees in Sitka's Center, Ms. Richards, who manages the center and Ms. Evans, an employment specialist, provide job advertising, pre-screening and matching services for employers, and job search, training and placement services for job seekers.
