New Program Graduates Transitioning Soldiers and Vets to North Slope Jobs

Labor Commissioner Click Bishop addresses graduates of the General Maintenance Technology “bootcamp,” a partnership of the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Southwest Alaska Vocational & Education Center and CH2M Hill.


Under a new program sponsored by the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, transitioning soldiers and veterans will go straight to jobs on Alaska’s North Slope. The graduates and their CH2M Hill instructors at a ceremony at the Southwest Alaska Vocational & Education Center in King Salmon on Friday: (front row, from left) Labor Commissioner Click Bishop; Spc.
