Virtual Alaska Veterans and Military Spouses Job Fair to take place Nov. 9-27
Nov. 6, 2020
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The annual Alaska Veterans & Military Spouses Job Fair will be held virtually this year over a three-week period, Nov. 9-27, 2020.
“More than 69,000 veterans and their family members call Alaska home – the greatest per capita population of veterans in the nation,” said Labor Commissioner Dr. Tamika L. Ledbetter. “Helping Alaskans find gainful employment has never been more important. Today’s veterans offer Alaska businesses some of the most highly-desired skills, including adaptability, dependability, follow-through, leadership, and a strong sense of responsibility.”
This free online event connects veterans, military spouses, and Alaska residents with employment and occupational training opportunities. Employers include federal, state, and municipal entities along with representatives from the construction, healthcare, oil & gas, financial, and transportation industries.
The hiring event will take place on the Alaska Virtual Job Fair (VJF) Platform. Job seekers can access the event via https://jobs.alaska.gov/jobfairs/virtual.html. This online experience will offer the same opportunities of a traditional job fair, from the safety of the job seeker’s home. Job seekers will have the chance to meet with prospective employers live via video chat. This job fair is open to the general public. Job seekers are encouraged to have a virtual copy of their resume and references available to provide to employers.
