Alaska Labor Commissioner Appointed To National Workforce Information Advisory Council

JUNEAU, Alaska — U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh announced the appointment of Alaska Commissioner Dr. Tamika L. Ledbetter to the Workforce Information Advisory Council (WIAC). The WIAC advises the Secretary of Labor on issues related to the national workforce and labor market information system.The council recommends on innovative approaches and technologies which inform employment, skills training and workforce development decision-making and the corresponding delivery of programs and services.
WIAC is composed of 14 members.Dr. Ledbetter will serve as a representative of a state agency responsible for workforce investment activity.
"Serving on the WIAC is an invaluable opportunity to bring Alaska’s priorities to a national stage, while helping to increase overall employment for the American workforce," stated Dr. Ledbetter.
The appointment begins immediately and will run through March 2023.
