No. 22-18

JUNEAU - Luke Bushatz, Chief Operations Officer for Remedy Alpine LLC, will open the Alaska Veterans and Military Spouses Job Fair at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Muldoon Mall in Anchorage. This annual hiring event will have approximately 80 employers and education, training and apprenticeship providers.

Bushatz joined the U.S. Army after college in 2005 and commissioned as a U.S. Army Infantry Officer in April 2006. He served on active duty until 2016 and currently serves in the Alaska Army National Guard. The opening ceremony will also feature Dorothy Hight, who will sing the national anthem.

"More than 71,000 veterans call Alaska home - the greatest per capita population of veterans in the nation," said Commissioner Dr. Tamika L. Ledbetter. "Alaska businesses can benefit from the skillsets that today's veterans offer, such as performance under pressure, integrity, accelerated learning curve, dependability, teamwork, leadership, and a strong sense of responsibility."

This job fair is one of the largest hiring fairs in Alaska and every year many employers use this event to discover valuable military talent that proves highly beneficial and profitable. This event connects veterans, military spouses and Alaska residents with employment and occupational training opportunities. This includes federal, state and municipal employers along with representatives from the construction, healthcare, oil and gas, financial, and transportation industries.

The job fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Muldoon Mall, 1251 Muldoon Road, Anchorage, AK 99504. The job fair is open to the public, and there is no fee to attend. Job seekers are encouraged to dress for potential interviews and bring copies of resumes and business cards.
