No. 24-23
ANCHORAGE — The Alaska Veterans and Military Spouses Job Fair will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, at the Alaska Airlines Center, 3550 Providence Drive, in Anchorage.
Richard Toney, Deputy Director, Installation Support for 673 Mission Support Group on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson will open the job fair.
"Alaska has the greatest per capita population of veterans in the nation," said DOLWD Commissioner Catherine Muñoz. "The Department of Labor and Workforce Development is committed to supporting Alaskan employers to hire veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses in their places of business. Making these connections is a priority for the Department. I encourage all employers and job seekers to attend this event."
This event connects veterans, military spouses and their family members with employment and occupational training opportunities. This job fair is one of the largest hiring fairs in Alaska and every year many employers use this event to discover valuable military talent that proves highly beneficial and profitable. There will be more than 100 employers, education, training and apprenticeship providers in attendance. This includes federal, state, and municipal employers along with representatives from the construction, healthcare, oil & gas, finance, and transportation industries.
Job fair partners include the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and the Alaska Airlines Center. This event is open to the public and there is no fee to attend. Job seekers are encouraged to dress for potential interviews and bring copies of resumes and business cards.
