Alaska Gateway School District – Mentasta

The summer work program is open to Mentasta students aged 14 to 21 who are considered students with a disability. June 2nd – July 11th.

ARC of Anchorage

The ARC’s Summer Work Program runs two different summer sessions - June 2nd – June 30th and July 1 – July 31.

We are committed to crafting an exceptional experience for our young participants, ensuring they not only learn valuable skills but also have a blast getting a head start on building their work ethic. Let's make work feel like play and pave the way for their bright futures

Arctic Access - Nome

Awesome Summer Work Program for youth 14 – 21 (up to 22nd birthday) who experience a disability and have trouble finding a job. 160 hours of paid work at $15.00 an hour. Sign up with Jill Peters at Nome Belz High School before May 30th. The program runs from July 1st – August 10th. Sign up early to improve your chances for the job of your choice.

Cordova School District

Cordova School District Summer Work Program (SWP) begins May 22nd and runs through June 30, 2025. Students will work in jobs that give them employment skills during the 6-week program. During the 6-week SWP, students have the opportunity to work at a job for 145 hours. There is a classroom instruction component, 15 hours of paid time. The teens will learn budgeting, resume writing, job interview skills, plus more. Students will be paid for on-the-job training.

We will support students ages 14-21 who have not graduated and are either on an IEP or 504 plan, or have a barrier to employment.

Family Centered Services of Alaska - Fairbanks

FCSA will engage 8 youth between 14-18 years of age in the Summer Skill Development Work Program. The program would run from June 2nd to July 11th for the hours 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. In this program, the youth will learn how to work as a team and develop work skills while offering direct services to our FCSA properties, UAF's Botanical Gardens, the community food bank, and a child learning center. Additionally, the work team will develop our company's first communal garden. The youth will participate in soft skill training lessons developed to increase knowledge of career opportunities, introduce budgeting skills, banking skills, resume writing and interviewing practice.

Wasilla Behavioral Health - Wasilla

Wasilla Behavioral Health will engage five youth between 14-18 years of age in the Summer Skill Development Work Program. The program would begin June 2nd and run through July 11th, hours 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. In this program, the youth will learn how to work as a team and develop work skills while offering direct services to local agencies, community parks, and recreational areas. .The youth will participate in soft skill training lessons developed to increase knowledge of career opportunities, introduce budgeting skills, resume writing and interviewing practice.

Independent Living Center (ILC) – Kenai Peninsula

The Independent Living Center (ILC) is recruiting students aged 14 to 21 for our Summer Work Program (SWP). To be eligible, students must be enrolled in high school for the 2026-2027 school year and have an IEP, a 504 plan, or a disability. Through our SWP, students will have the opportunity to practice work readiness skills, explore various job options, and gain an understanding of workplace expectations, all while earning a wage.

Lower Kuskokwim School District

The LKSD Summer Work Program trains students, aged 14 - 21, to enter the workforce as valuable employees, equipped with the skills necessary to attain and maintain employment. Our goal is to increase our students' ability to pursue careers that pay well and are meaningful to them. This program has two components: 145 hours of direct work experience at local businesses and 15 hours of career coaching and soft skills instruction.

Who can apply: Any LKSD student ages 14-21 with a disability, IEP, 504 plan, or any youth who could potentially qualify for services.

Kenai Peninsula Borough School District

The KPBSD Summer Work Program is an excellent opportunity for students to gain important work experience while being paid! This is a great step for students who qualify for the program to work on skills to help them transition from school to adulthood!

Program Requirements: Aged 14 – 21 and a current student of a KPBSD school enrolled in 25-26 school year.

Have an IEP, 504 Plan, or be potentially eligible for DVR Services

Be eligible to work in Alaska, present a Social Security card, and complete a district employment application

Be available for the duration of the program 6/2/2025 – 6/27/2025)

Mat Su School District

Exciting opportunity for students with an IEP or 504 Plan — the DVR Summer Work Program with MSBSD. This program offers students a chance to build real-world work experience in a supportive environment.

Program Details: Dates: June 2 – June 26

Days/Times: Monday through Thursday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Worksite Locations: - Settlers Bay Golf Course, Goshen Garden & Greenhouse, Valley Recycling Center and MSBSD District office.

Transportation: Not provided – families are responsible for transportation Lunch: Students must bring their own lunch

Eligibility: Must have an active IEP or 504 Plan and be a junior or senior in the upcoming school year.

Metlakatla Indian Community

Metlakatla Beautification program- Community-based work in the construction trades were workers will work meaningful trades within the community.

Sail- Haines

The SAIL Haines Summer Work Program offers a 6-week employment opportunity for students to gain valuable employment experience by working at a community business of their field of interest. Students must be enrolled in school and between the ages of 14-21 to participate. Students who have an IEP, 504 plan, or are potentially eligible for Vocational Rehabilitation Services should apply.

Program Dates: June 9, 202- July 18, 2025, 25 hours/week

Deadline to apply: June 2nd

Wage: $15.00/hr

Sail - Juneau

Youth Employment in the Parks - Teens work on trails and parks throughout Juneau for full days Monday through Thursday. Fridays will be a half day where there will be a focus on team building,

discovering future work skills, and educational goals. Returning or familiar students will have the option to be placed at an individual placement. Program dates: June 2nd, 2025 - July 25th, 2025.

Who can apply: A student with a disability aged 14-18 years old who has an IEP, 504 Plan, and/or is potentially eligible for DVR services and is currently enrolled in school.

SAIL – Ketchikan

The Summer Work Program is a 6-week paid outdoor work experience for students ages 14-21 where they will learn valuable employment and independent living skills. Students should be currently enrolled for the 2025-2026 school year. Also, individual hire placements are an option.

Open to Students who have an IEP, 504 plan, or who identify as having anxiety, trauma, depression, or any non-apparent disability are encouraged to apply. June 9th to July 18th, 25 hours per week, $15 per hour.

SAIL – Sitka

The Sitka Summer Work Program is a community-based program that runs for 6 weeks. The first day of work is June 9th. The last day of work is July 25th. We partner with Sitka Trail Works, Alaska State Parks, National Forest Service, etc., on trail and park maintenance throughout Sitka. Additionally, we have individual placements at a business or organization in town. We also spend time each week discovering future careers and educational goals. environment!
